Primestream – New enhancements enable full 4K/UHD workflow

Primestream, a leader in dynamic media management, announced that it will introduce its new, powerful 4K/UHD workflow at NAB 2018. The enhancements will allow users to capture, manage and deliver 4K/UHD files and live SDI streams.

The 4K workflow offers flexibility through automated proxy creation, as well as performance enhancements, allowing users to preview 4K content directly in the clip window or preview a playback stream in full-screen, high resolution. Other benefits include an improved editing workflow, giving users the ability to edit while shooting, in Adobe Premiere Pro and Apple Final Cut Pro with an increased time and two-way metadata communication.

Primestream will also showcase 4K ProRes playback in QuickTime or MXF over SDI or over IP. Users can also play HD/SD up to 4K and wrap 4K content in QuickTime or MXF where these formats are required.

“Customers are increasingly choosing to record in 4K, but they don't have complete workflows to support this format. We believe that the need to deliver content in 4K will soon become essential to production and delivery requirements,” said Claudio Lisman, President and CEO of Primestream. "With our new 4K workflow, we aim to help broadcasters build an infrastructure to support the latest workflows, standards and formats to meet industry demands."
