Blackmagic 2110 IP Converters for Broadcast and Live Production
Blackmagic Design: Blackmagic 2110 IP Converter. Blackmagic Design has announced a new range of Blackmagic 2110 IP converters, designed to integrate SDI equipment into 2110 IP broadcast systems. The mini and rack-mount models support Ultra HD using 10G Ethernet and comply with the SMPTE ST-2110 standard.
Compliance with SMPTE ST-2110 standard
The new converters are part of Blackmagic Design's wide range of SMPTE-2110 IP video products, which include converters, monitors and cameras. Rack-mount models feature a color LCD display for monitoring, menus and diagnostics, and all models support the NMOS protocol for seamless integration with other SMPTE-2110 devices.
Integration with SDI equipment
"This new line of Blackmagic 2110 IP converters is exciting because it provides customers with a way to integrate their existing SDI equipment into low-cost 2110 IP broadcast systems," said Grant Petty, CEO of Blackmagic Design. "Using 10G Ethernet, we were able to design the inverters smaller, using less power, allowing them to be powered remotely, all at an affordable price."
Improved quality and performance
One of the main advantages of the Blackmagic 2110 IP Converters is their ability to connect point-to-point, eliminating the need for a complex Ethernet switch. This allows users to enjoy the benefits of SMPTE-2110 IP video with simple Ethernet cables, remote power and two-way video.
Blackmagic 2110 IP Converters support the highest video quality, with 10-bit color depth ensuring perfect pixel-to-pixel transmission of the original SDI source. The converters also support the Blackmagic IP10 encoder, which provides low compression latency for Ultra HD video above 30fps, ensuring that SMPTE-2110 IP video products remain affordable.
Available models and technical characteristics
The Blackmagic 2110 IP Converters series includes three different models:
- Blackmagic 2110 IP Converter 3x3G: Supports 3 3G-SDI connections, ideal for standard HD applications
- Blackmagic 2110 IP Converter 4x12G: Supports 4 12G-SDI connections, offering more flexibility and support for Ultra HD up to 2160p60
- Blackmagic 2110 IP Converter 8x12G: Supports 8 12G-SDI connections, providing the highest capabilities for large productions and facilities that require multiple Ultra HD connections
All models support remote Power over Ethernet (PoE), have an LCD display for easy monitoring and diagnostics, and are NMOS protocol compliant for direct integration with other SMPTE-2110 devices.
