Blackmagic Design announces new Ultimatte 12

Blackmagic Design announced during IBC the availability of Ultimatte 12, a new realtime hardware compositing processor that is ideal for broadcast quality keying, adding augmented reality elements to shots, working with virtual sets, and more.

The new Ultimatte 12 is an advanced real-time compositing processor designed for the next generation of broadcast graphics. Ultimatte 12 features completely new algorithms and color science, incredible edge handling, greater color separation, amazing color fidelity, and broader bleed control than ever before.

The advanced 12G-SDI design gives users the flexibility to work in HD today and move to Ultra HD when they are ready, providing sub pixel processing for stunning image quality and textures in both HD and Ultra HD. Additionally, it is compatible with virtually all SD, HD and Ultra HD equipment, so users can use it with the cameras they already own.

Ultimatte Smart Remote 4

Ultimatte 12 is controlled via the Ultimatte Smart Remote 4, which is a touchscreen remote control that connects via Ethernet. With the ability to daisy chain up to eight Ultimatte 12 units to the same Smart Remote, users don’t need to worry about adding a video router or hub. The Smart Remote 4 features buttons for switching and controlling any connected Ultimatte 12. There are also buttons for quickly loading and saving presets, along with a touchscreen that provides full control over every parameter. Users can also create their own custom control solutions because Ultimatte 12 uses a simple, open text protocol.
