Blackmagic in 20 of this summer’s most successful films. Blackmagic announced today that production and post production companies used its products such as digital film cameras, VFX and motion graphics software, Fusion Studio and DaVinci Resolve Studio, editing, color correction and finishing tools for shooting, editing and color correction in more than 20 of this summer’s most successful films.

From car crash shots, action scenes in “The Infiltrator” and “Jason Bourne,” visual effects (VFX) work, such as compositing on “The Founder,” to VFX plate shots for “Independence Day: Resurgence,” and final color corrections on “Alice Through the Looking Glass” and “X-Men: Apocalypse,” Blackmagic Design products were used to complete these productions.

Among other things, “Ben-Hur” used various Blackmagic camera models for the action shots that open the film. In “Don't Breathe,” director of photography Pedro Luque used the Pocket Cinema Camera for the action scenes. For “The Infiltrator,” director of photography Joshua Reis used three Production Camera 4Ks, and in “Jason Bourne,” director of photography Igor Meglic worked with several Micro Cinema Cameras and Pocket Cinema Cameras to capture the action scenes.

For visual effects

  • “The Founder” used Fusion Studio by Jeremy Nelson of Moving Target for the final editing of the film.
  • “Independence Day: Resurgence” used VFX plates and the URSA Mini 4.6K.
  • On “The Shallows,” Digital Sandbox’s Cody Cuellar worked with DaVinci Resolve Studio to perfect visual effects scenes.
