The LaCie Rugged RAID 4TB Thunderbolt & USB 3.0 offers a blend of compatibility, speed, portability and reliability for Windows PCs and Apple Macs. It is considered one of the most complete solutions for users on the go and in difficult transport and use conditions, as it adapts to their needs for high performance and data security.
When performance depends on speed, Thunderbolt is the fastest interface on the market. The LaCie Rugged includes two 2TB internal hard drives that are already configured in hardware RAID 0 for consistent performance of up to 240 MB/s.
At this speed, content is stored and transferred twice as fast as before. It is the time-saving solution for professionals who need to collect and transfer large amounts of data to external storage media.
The LaCie Rugged adapts to the user's needs. In RAID 0 mode, speed and capacity are maximized. While in RAID 1 mode (mirror mode), capacity is reduced but data is copied in its entirety to both drives so that even if one drive fails, the files are available on the other drive.
The LaCie Rugged is compatible with any Mac, PC, or both. And with Thunderbolt and USB 3.0 interfaces as well as hardware RAID, it is recognized by any computer. Because it's powered via the Thunderbolt cable, no power outlet is required, so the LaCie Rugged allows data access from anywhere when connected to a laptop.
Also, with the lid in place, the LaCie Rugged is IP 54-rated, which is the degree of protection it provides, according to international IP standards (International Protection, for the degree of protection of electrical device enclosures) for high resistance to dust and water even during operation.
In addition, it features shock protection with an outer rubber casing and internal protectors for falls from up to one and a half meters (when not turned on) and also protection from external pressures.
With 4TB of capacity in a portable size, the LaCie Rugged can store the equivalent of thirty 128GB memory cards.
