Mobile Viewpoint Stellar Cam by Vislink. Vislink, a global technology leader in the capture, delivery and management of high-quality video and data in the media and entertainment, law enforcement and defense markets, announced the Mobile Viewpoint Stellar Cam. A camera designed for live sports production powered by artificial intelligence (AI).
Stellar Cam is an addition to Vislink's range of cameras for automatic coverage of demanding sports. It is weatherproof with ultra-high resolution, high frame rates and zoom capabilities for on-field recording.
All-IP wireless streaming
The Mobile Viewpoint Stellar Cam by Vislink is an all-IP wireless streaming product designed for use in remote and live sports productions and was introduced by Vislink at the NCAA 2022 Convention Trade Show.
Mickey Miller, CEO of Vislink said: “Stellar Cam represents the latest in a series of artificial intelligence solutions from Mobile Viewpoint. It is a key component of IQ Sports Producer, the platform for capturing live sports events without the need for on-site personnel. IQ Sports Producer is ideal for mid-range and lower-end matches. It enables OTT providers, rights holders and production companies to capture sporting events on a limited budget.”
Stellar Cam
Michel Bais, CEO of Mobile Viewpoint, explains: “At the beginning of our AI journey, we offered our customers a 4x 4K panoramic surveillance camera. Although it was ideal for web, many customers asked for a camera with a higher frame rate, adjustable lenses and more.
At the time, there was no panoramic broadcast camera, so we invented XCAM. Stellar Cam is an evolution of this technology with more features, improved quality and support for 50/60 frames per second, ideal for live event broadcasting”.
IQ Sports Producer: How it works
IQ Sports Producer was designed for live streaming of sports like football, basketball, etc. and recently developed to cover sports like horse racing and cycling, adding support for more sports. A unique panoramic camera captures the entire pitch in extremely high resolution.
Artificial intelligence is used to create a virtual camera that follows the action, creating a cropping software from the panoramic view. IQ Sports Producer zooms in, provides highlights, graphics and scoreboards for a professional production. In addition, it is compatible with popular performance analysis tools.
