Sonnet eGPU Breakaway Pucks: Radeon RX 5500 XT or Radeon RX 5700
Sonnet eGPU Breakaway Pucks Radeon RX: Sonnet announced two new eGPU Breakaway Pucks, with a choice of two different graphics cards: Radeon RX 5500 XT or Radeon RX 5700. These new devices offer a DisplayPort 1.4 port, an HDMI 2.0 port and a second port Thunderbolt 3/USB-C. The wide variety of video output ports offered by these devices allow the connection and installation of multiple displays.
HDMI 2.0 and DisplayPort 1.4 can each support a 4K display with a refresh rate of up to 60 Hz. The second Thunderbolt 3/USB-C port can support a display with a resolution of up to 6K and a refresh rate of up to 60 Hz.
An add-on that's perfect for these devices might be the Sonnet Dual Display Adapter, which offers either two DisplayPort ports or two HDMI ports.
Power and charging
Along with these video outputs, these devices offer two USB 3.2 Type-A ports that enable the connection of a laptop, while significantly increasing the graphics power of the PC system.
They can also support charging up to 60 watts, allowing the laptop to charge while it remains connected. They feature Sonnet's unique design and a ventilation system to cool the internals.
Models
Two different models are offered depending on your needs. The Radeon RX 5500 XT graphics card has up to 4 GB GDDR6 video memory and the Radeon RX 5700 XT graphics card has 8 GB GDDR6 video memory and both have support for 30-bit HDR color.
