Contribution Distribution Services – TV signal transmission
TV signal transmission services are provided from Greece to subscription platforms in the USA, Canada and Cyprus. In collaboration with one of the largest networks of contribution television signals for transmission of high quality - broadcast quality - program.
In cooperation with multiple teleports and data centers, direct access to over 55,000 TV channels and over 75 satellites worldwide is available.
The signals can be received directly from the studios by installing relevant encoder equipment.
At the receiving headend, the corresponding decoder is installed. There is the possibility for IP transport stream H.264. Alternatively, the signals can be received by satellite at the points of interest in cooperation with a number of teleports around the world.
The signals are received directly from the teleport antennas. If the TV signals are available on a satellite the process becomes easier and no encoder is required in your facilities.
In the case of receiving from a satellite, the service includes two coding cycles instead of one in the first case, and furthermore the bandwidth of the signals is limited to 3-4 Mbps of the satellite while in the first case it can be much higher e.g. at 20 Mbps, depending on the performance of the internet, as the technology we have is bandwidth agnostic.
For North America, two-way partnerships are available on all major networks. The services are managed and fully redundant.
TV signal distribution – Indicative services for the US
- To Dish Network:
2 optical paths (main & backup) to Cheyenne and 2 optical paths (main & backup) to Gilbert which is the hub of Sling, Dish Network's IP platform. - To Comcast:
2 optical paths (main & backup) to Dry Creek and 1 more to Stone Mountain which is Comcast's IP DR. - To Verizon:
1 optic to SHE1 and 1 to SHE2 (interchangeable main & backup).
Signals can be received directly from TV studios by installing encoders. Ideally, we recommend routing signals through two independent ISPs per signal for redundancy reasons.
In the USA it is converted to NTSC with a hardware standards converter, based on the specifications of the subscription networks. The signals are then routed to the desired headends for Direct To Home reception.
